How to Join Freemasonry:

We hope to give any prospective member a good overview and introduction to our organisation in the various sections throughout our site.

People often ask what is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is a Brotherhood of men sharing a focus on Moral and Spiritual values, dedicated to the ideals of promoting Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.

Every member is expected to profess a belief in a Supreme Being, regardless of their religion, and abide by the laws of the country of their residence. Freemasonry uses allegories and symbolism to teach liberal arts and sciences which form the basis of the ancient traditions. In essence, it inspires men to become a better version of themselves. Becoming a freemason is a strange experience, for most of us quite unlike anything else we have ever experienced. As the word implies, it offers a unique experience that paves the way to a better self-understanding. The ceremony is made possible by an entire team of Lodge Members who work hard to ensure you are received amongst a band of true Brothers.

Your Masonic journey is considered to be an individual experience, or journey, albeit one taken with the help, assistance and guidance of other Freemasons. The meaning and interpretation of Scottish Masonic Ritual, Regalia and Symbolism, for good reason, is not fixed and is left to the interpretation of the individual Freemason. This is one reason why Scottish Freemasonry remains unique in the world and long may it remain so.

If you are interested in joining Lodge St Peter No 331, in the Province of Ayrshire, and know someone from that Lodge, you should speak to him regarding an application for Initiation.

If you do not know anyone who is a member of our Lodge, please contact us through the contact’s page. Lodge St Peter has several Brethren who are happy to discuss membership applications from suitable men. They will answer any questions you may have and if you wish to apply, they can assist you through the process.

Membership of the Craft in Scotland is open to respectable men who believe in their personal Supreme Being. Applicants must be the minimum age of 18 years.

Please fill in the contact us form if you wish to speak with us regarding membership of our organisation. We will get in touch to discuss this with you with no further obligation.
